Reflecting on 2019
As the year comes to a close, now is the time to look back and reflect on the last twelve months. Each year seems to pass by faster and faster, which is why we’ve made a commitment in our household to fill more of our days with experiences.
2019 did not disappoint… This year we went to Yosemite for spring break and visited family in Georgia. I took the dream vacation to Tahiti for a belated honeymoon with my husband. I finished my 28th half marathon with a time that was 15 min faster than the year before and 4 minutes faster than my most recent fastest time and I golfed my best game while networking out on the links. These were all incredible and unforgettable experiences to enjoy looking back on.
On the work front, Kendall Law continues to grow and offer more services to its clients. This year, Yasmin Keyvan and Ryan Blaney joined the Kendall Law team. With the addition of Ryan Blaney, we now offer our clients contract review and drafting services, and help with business formation. Our associate, Yasmin is here to handle those delicate and sometimes tricky eviction matters for several of our property management companies and individuals.
In addition to being in the courtroom plenty of times this year, I enjoyed being able to present the latest information about a slew of new “crazy-making” Rent Control Laws for several local real estate firms and property management companies. We love educating our clients as much as we enjoy handling business litigation should the need arise.
Another great experience was being part of the South Bay Business Women’s Association. Giving back is extremely important for us at Kendall Law and we continue to serve in this organization to raise scholarship funds for local women in the South Bay. Scholarships are offered not only to graduating high school seniors and currently enrolled college freshmen, but also students continuing with post-graduate work.
We heard some amazing stories from this year’s scholarship winners. From overcoming incredible challenges, to being single parents continuing their education while raising a family, to the goals, aspirations and determination to make an impact in this world. I strongly recommend getting involved by joining, making a donation or sponsoring the annual conference (it’s tax deductible).
A year of some pretty great experiences, I’d say, thanks to my husband, family, friends, clients and colleagues!
